They were sobering events that one could never fathom as really happening……not here in America! So, what was I so afraid of; it was only a bad night of rapid eye movement (REM) disturbed sleep, nothing more. At least, that is what I kept telling myself. It was almost like a weird Twilight Zone experience; weird as in seemingly real but not real! You know…. similar to one of those transcendental meditation type deals. But also like an out of body encounter; or the Scrooge’s threesome blend on Christmas?! Take your pick to whichever may float your boat but one thing for sure it was straight up bedlam!!
While daybreak was beginning to peer through the blinds, I began to remember more and more of the nightmarish dream and to my retrospection… it was something like this…..
I appeared to be nonchalantly standing by a woman on a busy sidewalk street looking through a department store window at discounted lovely leather handbags. My peripheral vision suddenly glimpsed an enormously bright flash of splendor. It all happened so quickly until it was positively blinding to the senses. Turning toward this vast brilliance; I asked the lady beside me did you just see that….that magnificent illumination? But she never answered so we both just stood there in awe and shocking disbelief wondering had something just magically occurred.
It all seemed so crazy and freaky….. I mean something so astronomical like this just does not happen!! In the mist of the dissipating smoke, stood a man dressed in arrogance, obstinacy, catastrophic pride and doom. He emerged and stepped forth bronzed in opulent radiance that showcased the exuberant political power of the right wing clique. Within little time this man became an icon. He held positions that merely molded and shaped him into a formidable adversary. Later, he would have to meet and defeat all challenges to fulfill the position of the United States Presidency. Some praised and looked upon him as being an icon and there were others who believed and did worship him as a GOD!
As I stood by in silence and watched, I heard people ask many questions about him and there were many replies. Some wanted to know where did this man hail from and how did he just all of a sudden pop up? However, the majority seemed to agree that he came from a strange place called…..Texas!? Moreover, vague exchanges were given about him but nothing concrete except for some controversial issues that did warranted more elaboration. But that in time got pushed under the rug. Later, good and trusting people found that pushing things under the rug was apart of the right wing’s modus operandi! Knowing this as a flaw of the right wing, for the most part the public seemed to become more and more accepting and complacent with their new found hero and leader. Eventually, they were pleased that he would become the perfect front runner for the United States Presidential campaign.
The low ongoing grumbles of the American people indicated that they had grown tired of the Democratic Party and wanted a change for the better!! They felt as though they had been betrayed and put through the ultimate disgrace and shame of being embarrassed by the Clinton sex scandal. This was too much to bear….oh, how could the President have sex with someone other than his wife!! They screamed he’s an adulterer…a sinner, a liar get him out of the White House!!
I watched as the Repubs and some sell out Dems advocated for a clean cut guy….you know someone honest with integrity, ethics and morals. Someone who was wholesome had a conscience and wouldn’t sell out the American people…one who would actually care about their welfare and would encourage our Congressional leaders to live by the original version of the United States Constitution. Someone who would take care of the country’s military forces by giving them the monies needed to buy protective armor, tanks, humvees and other military equipment that was built with the best materials that revenues could buy.
So, they found the perfect candidate for the job which was….George Bush!! There could be no other! Even the Blacks jumped on this band wagon; for whatever reasons still remains a mystery?!.....
One would only think that these people should have learnt their lessons from long ago. Did they not pay attention to what happened to the Indian guides that the US Cavalry used for scouts? The cavalry knew that it took an Indian to track another Indian without them they would have been just spinning their wheels. But when it was all said and done and there were no more Indians left to find what do you suppose happened to those Indian guides….need I say more?
Moreover, it is true that during the “Slavery to Freedom” years Blacks started out with the Republican Party while each side had its own agenda. However, the Repubs have always been extremely brilliant strategists and they needed them solely for their vote… Do you think anything has changed since then and now….speaking solely to the bottom line?
Anyways, the Repubs needed someone whose sole interest would be to increase the wealth of the wealthiest. Someone who would guarantee multi-million dollar tax breaks for the energy corporations and other multi-million dollar investments, enterprises and conglomerates. It had to be someone who has had previous experience in sleeping with the enemy. Reluctance, inhibitions, apprehensions, limitations, restrictions, remorse and having human feelings were liabilities that could not be tolerated in the physical makeup of the person that they had chosen.
Well, this locks it in… and Bush would become the perfect man for the job!!
What is still so perplexing is how did the proletarian/working class, middleclass, and some upper middleclass think that they were ever going to get a decent shake from out of this deal?? How is it that they did not know that all monies made stays at the top with very little that trickles down? The bourgeoisie may associate with a few of the achieved status class but it doesn’t mean that one is readily accepted as apart of their clique. Just ask Madonna or Cosby, I am more than sure that they could clue you in!
This was apart of my slumber that I wasn’t frantic about because I knew that I had to have been asleep in order to imagine something this ridiculous. Because no one is this dumb….do you think?
This dream was beginning to fill me with anxiety again because nothing was the way I remembered it. Everything that I grew up on and knew to love and hold endears to me had been changed. I looked on and saw television news being manipulated by Republican controllers. The local and international news were being edited, filtered and really watered down to ensure, protect and safe-guard the current administration’s self-righteous false façade and failing policies on the Iraqi war and the high prices of oil and gas.
The real news of Bush’s Iraqi war was not getting through to the public. People were being spoon fed information that kept them in a passive mind set. Main stream media had been suppressed and taken over by Time Warner, Microsoft, and Sinclair Broadcasting companies that ran sixty two or a tab bit more TV stations. Moreover, the heavy hitters that backed this administration and run the movie industries in Hollywood also kept pretty tight reins on controlling anything that would harm or discredit this administration.
I saw examples being made of Hollywood stars that stepped out of line and spoke out against this administration. If this was done then there repercussions or a penalty to pay; you don’t believe this well just give a call to Whoopi, the Dixie Chicks, Susan Sarandon and her hubby Tim Robbins just to name a few. And this guy…what’s his name…oh yeah, Bill Maher and Steward is really pushing the bar among some others. But I guess you have rebels everywhere you may go!! And you know what?! Thank God for them because we need more like them. I watched all of these events unfolding as though I was watching it on TV. My God….but suppose we did have more people standing up then maybe some of this would be contagious and infect more Democrats…. Hey, I can have wishful thinking; after all it is my dream.
Through some type of subliminal persuasion via signs, television, newspapers or listening to that right wing political rhetoric; I began to notice that people were being mentally programmed, robotically altered or brainwashed if you will to certain degrees!? What I saw was unimaginable and unbelievable!! It reminded me of an old black and white flick of the Nazi era mixed with a blend of the Invasion of the Body Snatchers.
There have always been and always will be dissensions among the different social classes and between any and all individuals; this is accepted and there is nothing wrong with it. This defines our world of diversity and it’s a good thing. What was happening was a horrible, freaky phenomenon!! Now, I am beginning to panic….and I can’t wake myself up....! I want to wake up now…this is getting abnormally weird!! Pleaseee wakes up.
As I walked among the people, whom seemed totally oblivious to me, I heard rumors and whispers that this man…Bush, had been a Governor of Texas and while occupying that office; his state held a high if not the highest rate of death row executions. About ninety seven percent leniency pleas and pardons were turned down and sentences were carried out with extreme prejudice.
My God….I really hoped that no one was truly innocent of their crimes. If so that would be a miscarriage of justice in the eyes of the law and an inhumane irreconcilable wrong to the victim, as well as, to the deity of his own understanding. Could you imagine sending an innocent person to his death? One’s conscience probably would never let that person pursue a normal way of living ever again; presuming if the one who executed the order was human himself……. Well, that’s neither here nor there.
As I strolled through this abyss filled with people that held different opinions from one another; I wondered why was I privy to see these things. I began to remember all the innocent people that the penal institutions had to release after that new revelation called DNA. I then thought about Texas having such a high rate of executions and I was thinking for a minute could some of those people been innocent ……Nooo?!
What am I saying? According to the President, he has never made or makes any mistakes….as a mater of fact; I forgot that he has God’s private cell phone number. So, what’s wrong with me….I must be slippin!?
People were under the false illusion that he just popped up from out of nowhere. But nothing could have been farther from the truth. This was a master plan devised by the Republican Party that goes way back when….you might say as far back as Regan’s era. These boys are superb architects with a flavor of genius in the mix. This was a magnificently well thought out strategic design that came together perfectly. I say it all the time; you have got to give these boys credit because unequivocally they deserve it!!
To have control of the House, Senate, Supreme Court Bench (with the three seats that are up for grabs) trust me a third seat will soon open; and the Oval Office were the Republican’s dream come true of ABSOLUTE SUPREME POWER!! Strategically the Repubs are great strategists….. Well, I guess there goes checks and balances?
What bothers me is why the Dems didn’t see this one coming? Look guys you seriously need to tighten up your game because you’re being slaughtered on the game court and it doesn’t look nice and it makes your associates and affiliates look bad as well. I don’t want to say games over because there still maybe a couple of rays at the end of the tunnel some where but you boys have just got to search harder to find it!
Well, after the reign of governorship his immanency was being groomed for the big chair… (Well not that chair) I mean the one in the oval office. The 2000 election would indeed go down in history as the Presidential Election that was touched by divine powers!! An election that was truly blessed by the Gods of SUPREME Intervention!
I stood there and watched how this man became a President of multi-million dollar corporations, large enterprises, billion dollar oil companies, and pretty much all conglomerates that consisted of billion dollar cash flow. He became exactly what he was groomed, molded and cultivated to be…a President strictly for the rich and filthy rich. Bush’s Iraqi war has truly been a profitable gain for the Repubs….well to be honest for all politicians because they all are getting paid. And paid very well at that! But the Repubs are making a killing…with Halliburton, huge tax breaks and oil profits from family businesses.
Dissension and chaos began to spring up all over the land. Countries that we knew and once loved began to resent and speak ill of us. Alienation grew like wild fire. We were being made the butt of off color jokes and fingers were pointed wherever we went. Our neighboring countries wanted to have nothing more to do with us. Some even harbored young men that fled the states to avoid Bush’s private war. The very same people who voted for him were losing their jobs at a rapid rate through base closings, outsourcing, and boarder openings to aliens and via other policies that this administration sanctioned. The people began to grumble again like they had with the Clinton administration…..looks like it’s no pleasing these people…..Go figure??!
Selective countries refused to join forces with us in battle. Nevertheless, the American people held no ill feelings toward their sentiments because a great majority was beginning to wake up and realize that something was seriously wrong here!!
However, this did hurt the young men and women that were dying in record numbers and are still dying under this President’s rule. This war had all the trademarks of Vietnam. We were stuck in an un-winnable dilemma with no A or B specific exit plan. This Iraqi war pales in comparison to the senior Bush’s televised twenty-four seven high tech Desert Storm engagement. I guess that speaks a lot to wisdom; contrary to what is immensely lacking here.
Under this President’s reign our troops were suffering heavy fatalities and casualties with a death toll that was rapidly reaching the 2000 mark! Soldiers were dying on a daily in double digits and there were no let up in sight! What arrogance and audacity we had to go into a country with an ethnocentric air and dethroned its ruler. Moreover, it was a country that did not present an imminent threat to America. To add insult to injury, we presumed to push our ideas of democracy onto a race of people who have been living without our help before Jesus Christ was born!
My God… how much more hypocritical can we be then to pursue this lie about democracy?! We haven’t seen democracy since the ongoing selections of the current President. And if that wasn’t bad enough, we then enter a war that throws all races together that more than sometimes hate or dislike one another and clearly have personal resentments, hang-ups and agendas that do not mesh. Incredible as it may seem, war forces a bond between those that could never possibly be achieved via any other means. As the old cliché goes “War makes strange bed-fellows.” Soldiers must live by a rule that everyday is the last day and because of this all colors bond and become as brothers…become as one. Then the sad reality is when they go home and is faced with the taboos of America’s practice of a false twisted façade of pluralism. Grossly pathetic!!
How can we straighten out, show or teach others how to live when we have not yet mastered this ultimate feat ourselves? My God what type of people are we?? We give a new meaning to the word HYPOCRITE!!
Please, I want to wake up now…...pleaseee let me wake up…. Daughters where are you now?……Megan or Yvette please call me! You both said that you would never leave me and that you loved me, so where are you now…..? Just ring the phone. I promise I will not keep you long….I promise! Oh, where is your family members when you need them……I need them now!!! Call me Yvetteee… Megannnnnn!! That’s just like trying to find something that’s lost and you don’t find it until you stop looking for it!!! THANKS a lot girls! Oh well, I guess I just have to make the best of it. Tough it out the best way that I can. After all I am witnessing these things for some type of reasons that have not been revealed to me yet…..it was beginning to grow darker and…darker…
I saw horrible, horrible things…..I saw families being ripped apart by this senseless tragedy that falls under hidden men’s agendas. There were fathers that had turned against sons, mothers against daughters, sisters against brothers, husbands against wives and friends that knew one another for years no longer spoke or associate because they were afraid that if they were seen or mingled with anyone who opposed the President’s policies that they would be called and labeled communists and traitors to their country. So, they distant themselves and friendships ceased to exist.
My God what is happening here? Is this still the land of the free? Or have I been in a time capsule and traveled backward in time to the era of Nazi Germany? I really want to know how could a long time friend actually turn against you and call you a communist and traitor to your country simply because you refuse to believe as he does.

From what I observed, the Democratic Party for the common man and for all people was divided and completely perplexed on different issues and was not able to reach sensible resolutions at such critical times. Political leaders needed to stop their petty bickering and focus their attention on the lives of the American soldiers and the innocent civilian Iraqi population that were suffering heavy fatalities and casualties.
Political leaders we do not need you to bicker like little kiddies and gain a public showing. We need you to come up with some type of strategy plan to bring us home to our families.
It doesn’t matter now, how we got into Iraq or the WMD’s not being found or the lies that were told that took us there. We can deal with all of that at a later date. And we will deal with it along with the “Downing Street Memo” as well…what is most important now is to find a way to get our guys from out of there! People keep talking about this or that….that’s no longer relevant.
What’s up with these people? It seems like some of these parents are gladly and willingly sacrificing their children and while doing so; standing on the side lines cheering Bush on and supporting him all the way? What’s next are they going to wheel themselves over to Iraq in their red, white and blue wheelchairs and fight too?? What theee…peanut butter is going on here??
Looks like and sounds like someone dropped too many of those tabs or too many mushrooms back in the day and those flashbacks are really kickinggg in!! Hey, those trips can be hell……! Ha Ha If it walk like a tab and talk like a tab…then it must be a tab! Don’t take it out on me…I haven’t did anything?
You got these parents that are coming out and supporting Bush saying that they children gave their lives for him and this country. That’s okay to feel that way but not everyone agrees with that opinion. On the other hand, Mrs. Cindy Sheehan has a God given right to speak out because she has given the ultimate sacrifice by giving her son to a war that she does not agree with….it’s just that simple. She has a right to an opinion.
It’s not right to try and slander her name. I don’t know if you guys know this or not but it’s time to shut down …in case you haven’t been keeping up; sorry to say but we’re losing this one!!! Inasmuch, as you would like to hear something different…. that’s just not going to happen, believe this for many reasons.
Now I am realizing that this must be hell because it couldn’t be anything else. Mothers who lost their children in war were made out to look like common villains with self rewarding agendas? War heroes were made out to look like war criminals??
Thank God for moms like Cindy Sheehan who I saw standing up for her fallen son and for the sons of other moms. Like Pat Tillman’s mom who is still trying to get to the bottom of her son’s death that was caused by friendly fire. I applaud her; I applaud them both and join them in this fight against absolute corruption and a misuse and abuse of political power! I remembered….her even though I was asleep I still remembered….but I don’t like his dream; I want to awaken……I want to open my eyes and wish this all away.
In spite of continuing odd occurrences taking place; a great number of the people all over the country continued to place their trust, faith and belief in this man. How could man-kind not know that this is an ultimate set-up for failure? Why hasn’t it been seen that our country is in a disastrous turmoil? The people were divided over a war that many felt was unjust, unwarranted, and illegal? I saw hundreds of soldiers dying. I witnessed the caskets coming back to distraught wives, parents and children. I looked on the faces of the young people who never had a chance to live out their dreams and have homes for their families.
It was heart breaking to see fathers, mothers, wives, sisters, brothers, children and other loved ones at flagged draped funerals crying and reaching out for their loved ones who they will never hold, touch or see again in this lifetime.
It was more than evident that the people had lost their way and had forgotten something so terribly important……”Thy shall have no other God before Me.”
The man who not only promised a chicken in every pot but also a financial gain of three times fold, had lied and cheated the people. Moreover, the reality that their loved ones were no longer a few miles away, within arm’s reach or a phone call away had began to sink in and the reality of knowing that they will never see them again was becoming too much to bear. This brought out more protesters against the Bush’s Iraqi war.
Why didn’t they see this when they chose to continue to put all of their faith into one man? Why couldn’t they have humbled themselves and admit their mistake? Why did they forget that when one places his/her all into any man/woman or child; that this a road to self-destruction?
I kept screaming and hollering at them and trying to warn them that they were going down a rocky road and to turn back but human pride and arrogance do not know humility. And because of this flaw one signs his own death warrant. Please let the powers that be awaken me in my bed so that I may go to my knees and give thanks to the One that breathes the breath of Life. Please hear my cry and let me awaken from this blazing inferno…… My heart is heavy with sorrow and sadness….I ask of thee to grant me peace and let me be awaken from this pit of hell………pleaseee!
What did the American people think was going to happen? It’s the same with anything in life….you get what you paid for! You hire a thug you get a thug’s job. You hire a crook and you’ll get a crook’s work. However, be aware of your employee because once he stops his theft of others; he will soon steal from you.
Whoooa……..This can not be the gas prices?! This is totally insane. You mean people are continuing to struggle at the pumps using monies that were allotted for something else to pay for the cost of gas and no one is speaking out about it…. Let me check and look around because this can not be planet earth!!! Hey guys, do you know that you’re being robbed at the gas pumps??! It looks like you might have made a bad call on your new found hero from Texas!! Okay, Clinton did have sex but it didn’t affect anyone’s pocket book except his.
Oh mannnn, this is what I call being stuck up or robbed without a gun…. I guess all your tax refunds are just about gone by now….huh? Better start thumbing through the yellow pages for an extra job. Oh, I forgot that your boy opened up the boarders to the illegal aliens and now all those little side jobs that were out there you don’t have any more…. Sorry?! Are you still waving your flag?

I am not sure and because this is a dream which gives me some type of play on this; but in the real world according to state and federal law; anyone who cheats or steals from a person after gaining his/her trust has committed a crime. It’s commonly referred to as “Larceny after Trust” or you may find it in your law books as being referred to something similar. It’s just a play on the semantics……that’s all.
However, it simply means that if one steals from another after he/she intentionally gains his/her trust then he has committed a crime that violates state or federal statutes. The amount of monies involved determines whether it is punishable by state of federal statutes.
As a matter of fact, our clergies and pastors of these rather extremely large religious sects could be named as co-defendant after or before the fact, as a party to the crime; whether inadvertently or advertently. When one convinces, persuades or influences another (their parishioners) to elect a person to office then later that person abuses/misuses his authoritative powers by robbing/stealing or causing harm to that person whose trust was gained has made himself/herself a party to that crime….Sorry Rev?
Men of the cloth whatever happened to the “Thou Shall Not Kill” commandment that was given to man to obey? You too will have to live with the 1800 soaring to 2000 deaths of American soldiers and thousands of innocent Iraqi people. I was just wondering Sirs do you have any children that are fighting in this war that you support and agree with…or have you perhaps persuaded your parishioners to enlist their sons and daughters instead? As a matter of fact, how much of tax break did you get for your churches any way?!? A pretty good tax break didn’t influence you to vote the RIGHT way did it….?
Oh my God…..I am just waking up. I must have fallen asleep right after I ate. I think that I am hyperventilating…..breathe slowly and deeply that’s right take in another deep breath. You see it was all just a bad dream.
Goodness, I was almost scared out of my wits. Whewww…Take my word for it…..nothing like that could ever happen here in the land of democracy. The American people are not that gullible and they’re not that stupid either!?
Oh, the President is on the TV and the people are cheering and giving him a standing ovation and holding up signs that reads, “ We Love You”, “We Support You No Matter What” wait a minute there’s a sign that reads….”You are my Hero, Icon, President….you are my God”……? What theeee….oooops! My mistake that was the Disney channel…sorry about that. Look, I need to collect myself because I did have a disturbed nap. Oh, well I better get ready for that new show on Fox called “OVER THERE” it is really worth watching. It deals with the soldiers being in Iraq. Check it Out!
